Meet the exceptional team who make Alta Vista the premiere senior living community in Prescott, AZ.
With over 33 years of marketing, community relations and operations experience, Maggie found her true passion working with the senior community when she joined Alta Vista Senior Living back in August of 2010. Maggie, her husband Bob, and their now grown children, relocated to Prescott over 16 years ago from Phoenix and fell in love with all Prescott offers. Maggie always tells people, “Prescott is a place where you can truly make a difference, you just have to jump in”.
Since opening in July of 2011 Alta Vista Senior Living Community has been awarded several community and business awards. From receiving the 2016 and 2020 Best Retirement Community in Yavapai County, to being voted by the readers of The Daily Courier, #1 Assisted Living Community for 2019 and 2020.
Using her PR and community relations experience, Maggie has become a big part of Prescott, getting involved and making a difference in the community. Maggie has sat on over 7 community boards including Salvation Army, Yavapai Silent Witness and City of Prescott Acker Trust. Maggie was the recipient of the Arizona Governor’s Award for Community Service in 2007 for her work in Yavapai County. She also received the National ICSC Marketing Award for Community Programs in 2006.
Maggie and her husband have been married for over 36 years and raised their two children here in Prescott. They are now the very proud grandparents of three beautiful little girls and are looking forward to many more grand babies! Maggie’s passion, when not working with her residents, is spending time with rescue dogs. She visits Best Friends Animal Sanctuary twice a year to work with dogs that are looking for their “fur”ever home and has been know to bring home a dog every one and a while. During her 2021 visit she met “Rosie” a 3-year-old mixed breed that was a new mama and looking for a home. Rosie and Maggie hit it off and Rosie now resides at Alta Vista spending time in Canterbury Village and the front desk. Rosie visits with residents, goes on walks and is available for pets all day long.
Phyllis Doss Business Office Manager
Phyllis has worked at Alta Vista from June of 2011.
Along with human resources, she also performs as the business office manager. She is very committed to excellent customer service for residents and employees alike. Originally from Colorado, Phyllis found her way to Prescott in 2003. She likes spending her free time working out, spending time outdoors and caring for her finicky felines.
Robert Davis Executive Chef
Chef Robert Davis comes to Alta Vista Senior Community from the beautiful Prescott Resort and Conference Center. He began his career locally in Prescott washing dishes at the Pine Cone Inn. After graduating from Prescott high school, he attended I.T.T. Technical Institute studying in the field of computer aided design and engineering. After spending 2 semesters at I.T.T tech Chef Robert transferred back to Yavapai College, and continued his love for cooking. Taking a semester off from his studies he earned a position on the opening culinary team for Planet Hollywood Phoenix. After a year in Phoenix Chef became a certified corporate trainer and move to San Diego to open Planet Hollywood Horton Plaza. While in San Diego Chef Robert trained under Chef Scott Meskan, who was a partner, chef owner of Georges at the Cove. When the time came for Chef and his wife to start our family, coming home to Prescott was the only choice for them. Upon returning to the area, Chef Robert accepted a position at the Prescott Resort and Conference center, where he has worked for the next 14 years, as banquet chef, Sous chef and in 2006 accepted the position of Executive Chef.
Faith M. L Sugahara Activities Director
Faith M. L Sugahara, Activity Director at Alta Vista Senior Living has a long carrier in the Hospitality and Customer Service Industry. Originally from Hawaii, where she met her husband of 38 years Chef Joel Sugahara, Faith came to Alta Vista as a part time server. Thinking she was slowing her carrier down and just enjoying some time working with seniors, her experience in hospitality took over. Very quickly she was supervising the front of the house. Her restaurant history goes back 45 years working in Hospitality and Customer Service, from Fine Dining to Sushi Restaurants to In Resort Restaurants Faith loves making sure guests are taken care of.
As Faith spent time with the residents at Alta Vista, she wanted to be able to do more than serve them, so she became a caregiver. She felt this would give her the ability to help residents even more. From Server to Dining Supervisor to Caregiver to Activity Director, Faith saw she could do even more by keeping them active and involved by working in activities. Faith embodies the “Aloha” spirit when working with her residents and spending time with her family.
Faith and Joel’s family consist of two gorgeous children, eight beautiful grandchildren and their newest addition, their great-grandson. After working and transferring around the Western United States they feel lucky to have found Prescott 24 years ago and have no plans on leaving this cute little town!
Perriann Holden Sales & Marketing Director
Perriann moved to Prescott, AZ in 1989. She came from Chicago, IL where she graduated from Western Illinois University with a BA in Communications and a Minor in Marketing. Perriann joined Alta Vista in August of 2011. As an experienced Licensed Real Estate Agent with the Senior Real Estate Specialist Designation, Perriann understands the challenges seniors and their families experience during the transition to a new home/location. Her knowledge and skills offer “peace of mind” during that transition period. Alta Vista offered the perfect job with Perriann’s passion for seniors and healthcare. When you ask Perriann about her position and role here at Alta Vista, she expresses that “making a difference and feeling worthy on a daily basis is the most fulfilling and rewarding experience. It’s not a job when you love what you do…”
Shannon Vialpando Director of Community Relations
Shannon Vialpando joined the Alta Vista Senior Living family in March 2013 as Director of Community Relations. She has many years working in advertising and marketing, and several years ago decided to find her real passion, with the experience she had. That passion was, and is, senior living!
Working in the senior industry has allowed her to be a big part of the Prescott community! Shannon sat on the board of directors for Prescott Meals on Wheels, does committee work for many organizations, and makes herself available as a resource to the community wherever she can! Hosting events and giving back to those in need are at the top of her priority list! Through Shannon’s work on these committees, several fundraisers have been developed and have become key signature events.
Shannon has lived in Prescott so long she is considered a “Prescottonian”. She raised her two daughters as a single mother, teaching them that integrity and work ethic go hand-in-hand. Her girls are her pride and joy! Adding to that, she is the proud grandmother of a beautiful young lady whom she loves dearly!
Alta Vista Senior Living is different. It is a family of residents and staff, and is also family owned! Shannom believes that her passion and career have crossed paths and that Alta Vista is home! You don’t find that too often in life, but she has!
Lynda Winnett Resident Service Manager
Lynda Winnett moved to Prescott Arizona in 2007 to enjoy the splendors of the High Desert and small city atmosphere. Lynda has worked in various capacities in the Health Care and Business Industry for over 15 years. Lynda came to work for Alta Vista in February 2020 as a Care Coordinator and with continued hard work and perseverance accepted the position of Resident Service Manager on the Assisted Living side of the building. In 2015, Lynda graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Community Development and Sustainability from Northern Arizona University. Lynda enjoys working within a team approach to develop sustainable business practiices that move the growing Senior Care Industry forward as the technology changes. Lynda is a Sigma Pi member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Lynda enjoys hiking in the Thumb Butte area with her two dogs, embroidery, reading, and volunteering with the Rescue Dog charities to bring positive change to the lives of shelter animals.
Marco Zepeda Maintenance Director
Marco Zepeda joined the Alta Vista Senior Living team in May of 2014 as a Maintenance Assistant. He has learned all the various aspects of the job and when his Maintenance Director left the company, Marco accepted the task to lead the department as Maintenance Director. His past qualifications from California enabled him to demonstrate leadership in managing the department to keeping the daily workflow transparent. It is an honor to serve the seniors as time goes on, as they have become family.
He is happily married to his wife of 25 years along with their two fur kids. He continues to give his all every day!
Danielle Wiese Move-in Coordinator
As a part of the Alta Vista family for over ten years, and having worked in Customer Service since 2005, Danielle has found a true passion for, and will continue to pursue a career in making seniors’ lives easier. Not only is she the Move-In Coordinator here at Alta Vista, she wears many hats that allow her to explore multiple roles within Senior Living. Knowing she wants to continue on this path for many years to come, in 2019 she decided to learn more about helping and caring for seniors by earning her Assisted Living Managers License.
Having been born and raised in Arizona, she is proud to call herself an Arizona Native. Danielle has spent most of her life living in the Prescott area and attended Yavapai College. Danielle also currently holds a Real Estate License in the state of Arizona.
When she is not hard at work, she stays busy raising her beautiful six year old daughter and taking care of her two dogs. Danielle and her family love to partake in the amazing outdoor activities that Arizona has to offer, especially hiking, kayaking, and camping.
Brandy Stephens Dining Room Supervisor
Brandy was born in Phoenix Arizona relocating to Ash Fork Arizona 28 years ago where she lives with her husband and son. She has been in restaurant management for over twenty years spending 9 years with the Grand Canyon Railway overseeing 3 restaurants, 2 bars, a Starbucks, as well as all food operations for train services. She next spent 6 years with Romulus inc. overseeing opening and training staff for new restaurant openings through out Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma. She is very excited to start her next journey with Alta Vista!
Rosie Community Canine
Rosie was found around New Year’s 2021 in Colorado with an 8-week-old litter of puppies. The veterinarian thinks she is about 3 years old. She has some issues with joint and muscle swelling, so she was transferred to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab Utah where the veterinarian team has unlimited resources. For 6 weeks the veterinarians at Best Friends worked on different therapies and medications to take away some of her pain. Rosie turned into a staff and volunteer favorite. She stayed at “Dog Town” Headquarters and hung out with staff and greeted volunteers coming into sign in for their shifts. And now has been adopted by Alta Vista!
Rosie stays in Canterbury Village at night, there is a caregiver with her and she has a patio that she can freely go out to. She has settled in and the residents in Canterbury Village love her and don’t like when we get her in the morning. Rosie is still having some joint pain and swelling, but Dr Z at Thumb Butte Animal Hospital is working with the Best Friends vets to keep comfortable.
Rosie loves going to the Doggy Park or on walks. Residents are able to take her out or just have some doggy time, stopping by the front desk to see if she is available. She is a sweetheart and loves everyone, we all feel she is the perfect addition to our Alta Vista Family…we hope you all love her the same!
